Text slang decoder

Paste a message and press Decode, or search the list below. Every abbreviation links to the full page where one exists.

How to use it

  1. Paste a message and press Decode.
  2. Every abbreviation found is listed with its meaning.
  3. Or search the list below by abbreviation or meaning.

How it works

The list is written and checked by the Wordhurst editors, not pulled from a user-edited site. Where a full page exists, the abbreviation links to it. New entries are added as they appear in real messages.

Questions

An abbreviation is missing. What do I do?

Email the editors with the message you saw it in and we will add it with its meaning.

Does the same abbreviation have more than one meaning?

Often. The list gives the most common meaning first and notes the others when context changes it.
